Meltem Sırtıkara
Meltem Sırtıkara is an artist who explores possibilities of co-existence by intertwining natural and cultural objects within a network. In her works, she incorporates space as part of this pattern, and in her recent productions, she particularly questions the issue of "residing." Her artistic practice, which examines the balance between basic needs and well-being, aims to create new spaces through embodied space, feelings, tastes, textures, and appearances.
Drawing inspiration from interior architecture, architecture, and the details of the earth and universe, Sırtıkara renders these inspirations visible through paintings, site-specific visual productions, and installations.
The artist's works, which question individual and collective life experiences, have gained significant visibility in both solo and group exhibitions. "Bir Ev" (One Arc Gallery, 2023), "Kayıtsızlık Şenliği" (2017), and "Neşeli Bir Umutsuzluk" (2016) are some of her solo exhibitions. Additionally, she has participated in group exhibitions at prominent art institutions such as Contemporary Istanbul, Anna Laudel, Mixer, and PG Gallery.
